I'm DNA'ed

So I spit into a tube and mailed it off.

We have information on our maternal side going back quite a ways. It became difficult to track at the point where there were multiple generations of John Badgers who married Sarah. It became confusing.

On my fathers side, it hit a dead end. My Grandfathers parents, who came to America via Ellis Island from Hungary, are only known as GrandMa and GrandPa. Really? No one knows their names.

So now I'll never know who to credit the Yakut blood line.

It said have a 85% chance of having freckles.
The reality of it is more like 100% if the suns out.

That Tricky Reality

Apparently its a floor length dress Baby Shower. Whose surprised really? So I had to up my game a bit as my nieces are very pretty ladies. My sister's going all "Mother of the Bride" on me and I was going all "Sun Garden Party". So here is what my head re-envisioned... Ant Shae Shae

Smoking? Right? So taking into account my girth, my girth's elasticisticy, and my age, I still chose the lovely number below.

Because there will be small children I will cover my arms with this Etsy find..

Thank you for pointing that out, yes I can make this, could have, but I don't have the arm left to crochet much any more. I wore out the crochet ligament. It's evil when pissed off so I just write the check. Lovely work and will cover the bat-cheese arms. So Win Win...

Gordorn Lightfoot

Once again Brian scored the most crazy good seats for the Gordon Lightfoot show last night at the Brown Theatre. Row three dead front of the mike. Finally after three concerts I got close enough to see him sing. At 78 he was frail looking and his wording wasn't always crystal clear, however, he sounded wonderful. His voice was rich and his brilliance in storytelling enchanted us all.

Me without a migraine.

All day painting

I really enjoyed doing the detail work on these. As the day wore on I wore out and made a few that couldn't be saved. No problem, a new base coat and I'll give it another try. Here are the days results.

Fund Raising Ideas

The Animal Expo is a month away so fellow artist and conspirator, Joyce, and I have been working on our strategy to make the shelter money at this event. Forever Homes for Paws will be open any day. Joyce came up with a great way to use the frames I gave her. I painted canvas just not in my usual way.

Here are the beginings of the first batch before the detail they are surely about to recieve.
