Mothers Day Remembered

Mothers Day is upon us this weekend. In this department I was blessed. Long gone now I can only remember the Mother who so gently raised me and so courageously became a role model for my future life as an adult. Mable never had anything easy handed to her in life and yet she met every obstacle with grace and unbelievable strength. I am so thankful we always had the best relationship, respect, and love a Mother and Daughter could share. I love this picture of her because her kind and gentle ways show on her face. She was a good Mom and I can't wait to see her again.

Sometimes life deals you some wicked crap. But if you have someone in your life like my Grandmother Anna, it doesn't matter. When she opened the door to her humble little home the pleasure on her face, the welcoming arms of her embrace, evaporated any problems at the door. Once you stepped in side her home you became her world. She was kind, and yet she was one of the strongest women I have ever known. Her strength and love magically transfered to us and we left there healed, loved, and ready to carry on. I used to call her house the neutral zone in the war of childhood. That little Hungarian's love courses through me to this day. I'm gonna hug her so hard when I see her again I hope I don't break anything.

The triple threat in my life was an Aunt who adopted us and we her. Another strong yet gentile woman Erma was always there when childhood became teen angst through the trials of adulthood. Her role in our lives was so subtle yet her impact was so great. Her grace, wisdom, humor enhanced my life. What a blessing to have a shared so many years with her. She was just a lovely lady and we were crazy in love with her.
On this special day I miss these ladies as I pay tribute to who they were and what they meant to me.
